The Story of Elohim: Part 2

 

“God” is a “catchall” term that the news media, and even rabbis, preachers, and priests, use in discussions about Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. “God” seems to be on all sides of every political issues – including wars. We all need to be able to see the actual Hebrew words behind the English translations of Jewish and Christian Scriptures (Old Testament & Teachings of Yeshua). “Elohim” and “God” do not have the same contextual meanings. By the time you finish this part, you will understand how wide the gap between modern translations and the ancient Hebrew text of Genesis is. And this is just the tip of the iceberg!   Today, I want to tell you a story that will provide a context in which you can better understand why exploring the Bible is so important. Once upon a time, a professor, a rabbi and a pastor agreed to follow a guideline and explore the Bible. Their names are Ike Tennison , Jeffrey Leynor , and Jim Myers . (that’s me). What am I?

What am I? Now that’s a question a lot of people have asked in the history of humans. We ( Rabbi Jeffrey Leynor and former pastor Jim Myers ) created two models for working with that question – after wrestling with it for over 25 years .
